my bike

this is my bike. i built it myself! i am very proud of it.

oops! i forgot to put the chain on the big ring. woopsie :^)

i built this mid 2021. pandemic year two. there was (at the time of writing, is) a major bicycle component shortage at this time. it was very difficult to obtain parts, but i persevered.

building a bike is obscenely expensive relative to just buying one off the shelf. the amount of money that i spent building this bike could buy you a brand new, full carbon full ultegra (maybe even dura-ace) bike (not that i want carbon steel4lyfe). but, i wouldn't have this dope ass frame.

i met these alpacas at one of the checkpoints on my first metric century
grimes canyon road is one of the coolest roads i've got to ride so far (as of feb 2022). yerba buena is in my sights...
