this is a gemini capsule first. a www mirror is generated from its sources using a wad of awk, perl, and make. the awk part consists of a gemtext to html converter wrote during an experiment with managing this capsule entirely within 9front, and as such is about as traditional awk as awk can get and should run just about anywhere. the perl part takes care of comparing modification times, rebuilding pages if necessary, and templating. make is being used mostly as a command runner.
previously, I had experimented with using make for the generation directly, but it became apparent that I was pushing it a little bit too far and it was making extending my scripts very tricky.
